After graduating from Harvard College, Ellen began her 44-year career as an investment management professional in 1980 when the prime rate was near 20% and Paul Volcker was determined to wipe out inflation. A lot has happened in the ensuing forty-four years. As a long-term investor who has seen a variety of economic and interest rate cycles accompanied by stock market highs and lows, Ellen subscribes to the wisdom of Peter Lynch, who keenly observed that “far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, or trying to anticipate corrections, than has been lost in corrections themselves.” She constructs and maintains a wide range of portfolios, including long-term growth accounts, balanced accounts, and income-oriented accounts. Ellen is extremely grateful for her client relationships, many of which go back twenty, thirty or even forty years and span multiple generations..
